The effective exploitation of milk cows represents a mix of economical, technological, health and veterinary related measures that should be applied aiming at the increase and optimization of milk production efficiency, while maintaining the normal health state of the animals. If improvements ensure the genetic potential of milk cows, exploitation reclaims and develops this genetic potential.

The project is aimed at promoting innovation in agriculture and food industry, responding to the priority themes of the financing scheme within the subfield: "Development of technologies and new procedures for obtaining agricultural and food products" and "Farm management and marketing". Hence, this project approaches the cattle exploitation system in a new way in our country and it stimulates the implementation of this modern dual objective system for the small and medium households, bringing this way more than the benefit of new technology acknowledgment. It represents the missing link to a new integrated concept, both in terms of superior valuation of the local domestic cattle genetic heritage, rational use of land and pastures, and market oriented approach.
